I have an Option to include Class Rank in my transcript. Should I include the rank?

Hello,
So my rank at my school is 94/659 or 14%. I have a GPA of 3.83/4 and would like to know if my chances are higher to getting into UT if I do not include my class rank? I heard UT calculates a rank for you and that rank could be higher than my actual rank.

For UT, I would not include it. Many of the HS’s in my area have gone to nonranking for everybody below the 10% cut off. They believe that it allows more of their students to get accepted. You have some great EC’s, so I think you should do well with the holistic review.

Don’t, it increases your odds in Texas and wint hurt you outside of Texas.

I thought the UT Direct (which you have to complete after you submit ApplyTexas and get an EID) has a place you have to fill in about class rank, and that if your high school does rank then you have to include that. Son just applied and that is my memory - but I can’t doublecheck because he submitted and so the UT Direct questions are now gone. Assuming I am right, you would need to answer that question truthfully. But if my memory is wrong and you can avoid answering the question, then so be it - but I would check.

@johncocktoasten Our school is a non-ranking school but they say if you really want your rank on your transcript, they can provide it.
