It's quite disappointing that i have been deferred from UCF. I have been through so much with the IB program for four years not to get accepted.

I have a GPA of 3.1/4.0
My SAT score is 1440 (yes it is low) and so I think that's the problem, but how many students usually get in with that kind of score?

Also, i have done hundreds of community service hours and has been part of many clubs, and has been a member of the marching band and varsity swim team for 4 years.

What are the chances they might still accept me? cause UCF is legitimately my top choice.

do majority of deferred students from UCF get accepted?

You need to focus on schools that practice holistic admission, who will be able to weigh your IB curriculum and your community service. Check out Flagler, Florida Southern, Millsaps, Birmingham Southern, Samford, etc.
Have you retaken the SAT this December? Or can you retake in January? I do think your main problem is that very low score - you’d need at least 1550-1600.

No, I mean smaller schools that look at your story and everything.
UF looks at your GPA and score, then if you’re on the margins looks at the rest.
To know how many students get in with your scores, type “college data” followed by the name of the college then click “admissions”. You need to be above the lower range for 25-75% range (if they have “530-620”, you need to be well above 530 and preferably around 570). Bottom 25% are athletes, legacies, and students who have extenuating circumstances.

Do what I said above for UCF and any other school of interest - check out Eckerd, Flagler, Florida Southern, UWF, USF, FAU, etc.
UCF has become quite selective in recent years and 3.1/1440 place you in the bottom 5% for GPA and bottom 10% for test scores. So no your odds aren’t good at all at UCF.
Those are two examples

Look at the 25-75 range - it should read something like 510-570.
Are you well above the bottom score? Are you rather close to the top score? Then your odds are good. Are your scores close to the bottom score? Then your odds aren’t good. Are your scores below the bottom score? Then consider it a high reach and don’t apply to more than 2-3 such schools because your odds are very, very low.
