that SAT II Literature is gross.

Its truth.

English sucks in general.

^true .

Literature >>>>>>>> Math IIC.

I.e., understanding and analytical abilities > rote memorization of formulas.

^what? you don't have to memorize any formulas for Math IIC...

Well, most people I know who have succeeded on it did so through practice and memorization.

But yeah, if you're good at math, that's not necessary.

Whatttt. Math II was my best friend.

math II is death! and i'm quoting a guy who took it while he was in multivariable calc.

i've heard the same about lit.

Huh? Math IIC is supposedly the easiest SAT IIC to score a perfect on if you're good at math...

IMO it depends on how good you are at Precalc. My Precalc teacher sucked.

I mean, I got an 800 on Math on the SAT I, and I'm beast at Calc (5 on AB and what not), but my Precalc understanding is ~0. I don't think that getting a mediocre score on Math IIC means that I'm not good at math, although I could be wrong.

Anyways, back to Lit: Yeah, yeah, it's subjective and often ambiguously worded. However, it relies a bit more on reasoning ability than do most of the tests, which are more based on knowledge of facts.

^but if you know Algebra 2 it really shouldn't be THAT hard. I mean I did it over on online course and still managed to grasp most concepts. But I guess each person is different. And Poseur a 760 on the Math IIC is not mediocre.....

How is 79th percentile not mediocre? Especially since it was my second try.

I didn't learn the law of cosines or the law of sines or any of those other formulas in Alg 2. Yes, I did learn them in Precalc, but they weren't exactly fresh in my mind when I took it. It was my fault for not preparing, I know; I'm not claiming otherwise. I just don't think that forgetting obscure formulas == being bad at math.

I'd rather take Math II again than take Literature....

I can honestly say the preparations I did for Math II was minimal. I relied on my calculator for formulas and answers :P I'm bad, I know. lol

Compared to Math II, though, Literature is a terrible test. Math, regardless of the subject matter, is at least clear and guided by rules. Literature is death by ambiguity and uncertainty.

I liked the lit test a lot more than Math 2.

btw I'm very good at math...finished BC Calc in Sophomore year. But pre-calc is very annoying...
