what to put in that box on the application. I'm seriously not asking to cheat, I just have no idea what they want! Should I put something outside of the box to be "outside of the box" or what? This is so strange. Any advice?

don't sweat it. DD put in a scrap of fabric. she got in.

Don't put something outside of the box. That's apparently very cliche.

Also, don't put anything having to to do with Rice (the food or the university).

They want a glimpse of what you find interesting.

On this year's freshman "meet sheet" (this booklet with all the freshmen's photos), the cover had some examples of what people had put in the box. I see a photo of a squirrel, a math proof, a photo of Aerosmith, all kinds of stuff. Put something that relates to your academic interests or random hobbies, or just a random fun drawing or something.

dude......stop thinking about it
