hey everyone :) I am not going to be in college yet but I will be a senior in high school this year. I am planning to go to a college an hour and a half away in case I get rejected by my first choice college. However my dad told me that if I go an hour and a half away that he won't drive me there. He only wants me to be 45 minutes away :/

So the thing is, my second choice is SUNY Albany. I can take a bus from Binghamton to Albany... but then how would I find the university in albany since i have never been there before?

Do I take a taxi while im in albany? I am not sure where the bus is going to stop in Albany but I was planning on taking Trailways :) Thanks!!

Okay wait, where do you live? You’re going to take the bus every single day? Because that sounds expensive and unfeasible. Is it an option for you to live on campus?

Sorry for the late response! I am going to live on campus but just going home for breaks and then coming back after break im not sure where the bus picks up and where it drops off

Hey! UA student here! If you plan to take Trailways, I’ve seen them drop off at UA so a taxi shouldn’t be necessary! But for moving into your dorm, can you fit everything you want to bring with you into 2 suitcases to bring on a bus? I mean this is coming from a girl so you know I probably pack a bit too much since I can afford to, but different people have different comfort levels so you have to ask yourself if you can be comfortable with just 2 suitcases of stuff and buying any other needs from the WalMart down the street.
Also, what’s your first choice and why do you seem so certain you’ll get rejected?
Hope this was helpful and good luck!

A college only 1.5 hours away from home is really close by!!! Dad would only have to drive you once to move in and once to move out in the spring. Think you could work on him and change his mind??? One of my kids went to school 7 hrs away, and we drove out their twice a year for 4 years–you just do it. The other two were 2 hrs away, and that felt like nothing.
