you can’t be an international relations minor if you’re not a Politics major. IR is an Honors major.

<a href=“Wilf Family Department of Politics”>Wilf Family Department of Politics;

oh man. I wasn’t aware of that. Can I major in Journalism and International Relations? Or is it on or the other?

no, you only qualify to be an IR major if you are in the POLITICS major, no other major. did you read the link i posted? there are very specific requirements.

i retract that. they seem to have changed it.

see here, specifically this:

[NYU > Politics > IR FAQ](Wilf Family Department of Politics)

How do I become an International Relations (IR) Honors Major at NYU?

Application to the IR Honors Major occurs in the fall of Sophomore year. Criteria for admission includes a strong academic record at NYU (G.P.A. of 3.65 or better); completion of two of the four required core courses, and progress toward or completion of the foreign language requirement. At the time of your application, you must have completed either Economic Principles I OR V31.0002 Economic Principles II AND V53.0700 International Politics.

Basically, I don’t even know if it’s possible, because Journalism requires you to double-major within CAS, and the IR curriculum is really rigid. The Journalism program is also rigid.

Thank you. I appreciate your help. I’ll keep that in mind.
