I just don't know what to do

So it's senior year and I just started school on August 1st. I went into school with an extremely positive mindset but for the past few days I have been feeling like this year won't be as glorious as I hoped. I simply don't feel like I fit in anymore with my group of friends and it seems like over the summer I was just relaxing and doing my own thing while all my other friends were busy doing hookah, attending raves, sneaking out, having sex, and getting wasted. I don't look down on them or anything, its their life, I just choose not to live like that. Anyways I just feel really left out and I don't know what to do...

Presumably a lot of that is exaggerated.

You should one up them and do much harder drugs.

You aren’t limited to that group of people. Branch out and join a new club to make some new friends. Or take your friendships into your own hands and ask your friends to hang out with you in the ways/places you want to hang out.

Sadly it was not an exaggeration

This is some top advice right here.

Are they making you feel left out or have you created this feeling yourself? Do they think you’re “uncool” now or something?

My group of friends throughout high school and college were nothing like you describe your friends to be. But as we have gotten older, a few of them have chosen to do the things that you describe your friend doing. I, like you, have chosen not to live like that. As a senior in college now I don’t drink, smoke, do drugs, go to parties, etc. because I am not particulary fond of any of it. And my friends respect that and we are still able to get along just fine.

Try suggesting doing activities that are more your cup of tea. If they are good friends, they will be willing to spend time with you doing things that make you comfortable.

A couple of my friends started acting similarly. I got really fed up and gave them some space for a while, and it really helped things out. Also hopefully they’ll become more motivated again after school starts to kick in because they’ll be influenced by other students. It’s been working on my friends so far

Thanks guys!! This really helped! And @whenhen, I will get started on snorting cocaine immediately!! :P
