I sent in my music supplement for Wash U a month or so ago, and my private music teacher got a message from a music department faculty saying that she really liked my performance. I think this is a good news, but what can this mean?

I would caution against reading too deeply into it. There are so many other good applicants that this doesn’t necessarily mean anything in terms of acceptance.

Daughter just got a very nice email from her admissions officer. Don’t want to read to much into it , but it was very encouraging and solicitous. Is this standard for all of the officers or could this be a good sign for my daughter?

Obviously, it’s nice that your daughter made a good enough impression to warrant such kind words, but I doubt that it is a reliable indication of acceptance.

It’s a great sign! Good luck!
