Hi, I am a junior trying to decide which sat 2's I should take, so I took a bunch of practice tests... and BOMBED. I am currently enrolled in a US history course, and an advanced precalculus/calculus course. (AP calculus BC next year). so I am FREAKING OUT. which sat 2s should I study for? I am planning on taking the sat 2s in may AND June, so any suggestions for a study plan or course of action besides for failing at life? I thought I would be pretty good at Math 1 and 2, but I guess not.

i want to apply to pretty good schools like NYU, BU, and tufts. and i want to major in business, finance, statistics, or economics.

here are the scores:

chemistry 520
physics 520
math1 650
math2 530
literature 570
world history 520

us history: did not take
biology" did not take

Which subjects do you enjoy the most? It's hard to tell here because none of your scores particularly stand out except possibly the math score. If I were you I'd take a math definitely and then another subject that you find interesting!

so in your opinion it would just be smarter to study for the subjects that I enjoy the most? I think that when I take the math sat I will do better because I will be done with precalculus, but its still kind of scary how badly I did. do you guys think it matters which book the tests came out of? I took the Barron's math 2 sat diagnostic test, but the math 1 was in princeton review. physics on the other hand was in kaplan. does that make any difference in relation to the scores?

Yup, as long as you meet admission requirements.

Barron's math 2 is tough as nails. Add about 100 to your score to get a good idea of your math2 skills. Or buy the Real SAT Subject book and do tests from that.

Yes, they're not real tests so they ain't accurate. Please, please buy the official SAT Subject Test book if you want to take REAL diagnostics.

I wanted to save the actual college board sat 2 tests for a time closer to the actual testing date. so does that mean that the diagnostic Barron sat 2 math... its ok if I did really badly? I mean, some of the stuff i had absolutely no idea about. like matrices and conics. i also totally forgot sequences. thanks for the encouragement. i guess I'll take math 2 after studying a bunch.

in terms of other things. I am thinking about taking physics and world history because they have a GREAT curve. does that seem like a good reason to take the test?
