i know thats so boring for you but will you chance me? :)

I know that an application is made up of lots of stuff but let's just focus on my SAT score. I got a 2050/2400 (700 CR -- 660 M -- 690 W).
I'm an international student (Italy) and my gpa is around 3.7.
I know my SAT scores suck so I'm gonna retake it but can you chance me for these unis:

Cornell (low chances imo)
UPenn (low low chances imo)
Brown (low chances imo)
Boston University (match?)
Northwestern (low chances imo)
UC Berkeley (match - low chances?)
UCLA (match - low chances?)
NYU (match - low chances?)

am I being pessimistic, realistic or too optimistic?
btw, I'm not applying for financial aid if that can be of any help
thanks

Buongiorno,

For the elite schools: Brown, Northwestern, Penn, Cornell, UC Berkeley… I am not sure you will even get by the first step. You will need to first and foremost demonstrate academic prepardness - and present an overwhelmingly convincing case.

2050 SAT is not a bad score but is certainly not convincing on it’s own.

Unless there is some way for the adcoms to verify the academic gravitas of your particular HS and what types of courses you have taken, they will be relying even more on your AP tests, IBs, SAT II’s - so you will need to offer them alot to prove your case, IMO. Retake your SAT tests, take ACTs, take SAT II’s, AP exams, etc and take as many different types of tests as possible.

Once you make a clearly convincing case for academic prepardness, then you make it to the next stage where your evaluated for “fit” for their university/culture and “contribution” in terms of your unique qualities bringing something to their campus. This is actually the harder part.
