Im looking for a college that has good college atmosphere and not an urban school, a school with good school spirit on the east coast preferably in va,nc or md but anywere else on the east coast will do. Also the school has to accept transfers for the winter/spring 2005 semester. Im only an average student so schools like Duke and UVA are not really in my league. Thanks, sorry if im being too specific.

try princetonreview.com's counselor-o-matic...it might give you some schools worth checking out

How about Maryland or NC State?

Have you looked at James Madison University? The students are rated as very happy. Also try Elon in North Carolina.

I know a girl who was really happy at Loyola in Baltimore--seems to have huge amounts of school spirit, and she got a great education.

I second Patty's suggestion of Elon. You might also want to check out: Furman U, Mary Washington, Washington College, McDaniel College, Goucher College, the College of Charleston, and Catawba College

I second JMU and [third, I guess] Elon. You can't go wrong with a lot of the suggestions I've seen on here, actually. Also look at UNC-Asheville and maybe Wake Forest as a reach school.

It is hard to recommend a school if we don't know what your interests are. Also, when you say average student, does that mean a GPA of 3.7?
