Chance me please! Thank you for even reading!

Oh btw. So many differing arguments. Should I retake my 770 Math Level two when Im taking my Chem and Lit if i'm aiming for these schools?? I'm 95% sure I will get a 800.

You have a chance for Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth.

Your a low-mid reach for Harvard/Yale/Princeton.

Your SAT’s are below average for MIT, and your AP Scores aren’t really good.

Your EC’s are excellent.

@nothingto

Thanks for the reply!
I plan to send my ACT instead of SAT’s for schools when I can.

Btw, What does a low-mid reach mean? compared to a high reach?

Sorry, I meant low to mid reach. As in, its either a low reach or a middle reach.

Does that mean that

a low reach has a higher probable chance of acceptance
than a high reach?

Yes. But not too much.

Ah ok. Because it always confused me because a high match means a higher chance of acceptance compared to a mid match.

but high reach means its a lower chance than a mid reach.

Bump please?

quick question. Will the colleges consider AP scores for admission? I thought they receive scores after the student is accepted…anyone?

I believe since you list your AP scores in your (common) application, they will be looked at.

Being an international citizen is most certainly not a hook, and will work against you. There is cut-throat competition to get into the Ivies, and only a limited number of spaces available for internationals. Unless you can get permanent residency before apps, your chances are very slim at the Ivies. It sucks, I know, we had this problem with my cousin who moved from Venezuela, she barely got it before it was time to apply.

Assuming you get your permanent residency, here’s what I predict:

Yale(SCEA) - High reach
Brown (ED) - Mid reach
Stanford - Mid reach
Caltech - Mid reach
MIT - Mid reach
Berkeley, LA - Low reach
Duke - Mid Reach
UCLA - Low Reach
All other UCs - good matches/safeties

Best of luck

EDIT: Yes, AP scores will be considered. Don’t send in a score if it isn’t a 4 or 5, though.

SAT low, SAT II low, some scattered AP scores, average ECs, solid grades.
Rough chances.

so say I had one crappy score, can I omit it in the common app?

Yeah you can, but admissions officers will obviously know or be suspicious that it was a crappy score if you have a ap class on your transcript but no score in your application.

Thanks for the chances guys. And does it really matter if my SAT is low? I have my ACT… and yes I know sat subjects are low, I have until october to study for them.

and decrescendo could you please give me some feedback about my stats? If you could that would be great!

^If you can improve your SAT IIs and SAT, you will be in a VERY competitive shape.
Good luck :)

Henrymoore, why do I need to improve my SAT?
I have a ACT score thats above the 75% level for most of those schools. Do I really need a better SAT score?

They are both matches.

Um I’m sure there is no way I am at a match for Yale SCEA. No one is. hahah. Thanks though!

One of those threads with really bad advice. Yale a match for an unhooked applicant? Not even close. The vast majority with the OP’s profile unfortunately will find Yale is a major reach.

You have the stats to be a contender. But you must find a way to truly differentiate yourself at these schools. Being from a state sending few applicants would help.

California. Hahaha. Redroses, what would be truly differentiating?
