Im a senior and Im missing a quarter of p.e. credits
I have no idea how to make it up and my counselor suggested me to take it at BYU for about $200
Do you know any online schools that won’t cost me as much for pe credit?

Actually, $200 isn’t a bad price tag to get you a diploma. The only other thing I can think of is asking whether you can get credit for being on a sport at your school. But I’m guessing that that idea probably doesn’t have a lot of appeal-- it wouldn’t for me. I’m guessing that if you were a sporty kind of kid you probably wouldn’t be down that PE credit.
But here’s the thing: It doesn’t matter what anyone here (myself included) suggests-- what you do HAS to go through your guidance counselor.
can you walk at graduation and do your pe credit at summer school next summer then get your high school diploma? Can you switch a class and take pe this school year?
A lot of states have online courses but they are going to charge out of state students. You can check how much they cost at Florida Virtual.
BYU is a common recommendation for getting needed credit, especially for athletes. Some states also give credit for marching band, dance teams, playing sports.
“I’m a senior”. “I have no idea how to make this up”. Surely your schedule has an elective that can be dropped. What are you prioritizing over this requirement?
Don’t you have 5 APs and some other courses? What were your GC’s other suggestions?
Op- come up with an alternative program and see if your HS will approve it.
Jogging three times a week, tracking how far and fast you run. Swimming laps at the local Y, with a lifeguard or coach signing you in and out to prove that you did it. Karate at a local studio. Dance at a fitness studio. Or figure out how to fit a PE class into your schedule right now.
In a previous post you said you will be taking 5 AP classes. Drop one of them for P.E
I’m a bit confused how you didn’t know this when signing up for senior year classes. Did you just hope the school would exempt you? It doesn’t matter how many ap classes you take, it is more important to take the required classes to graduate high school.
I took online gym this summer to free up a slot in my schedule this year. Look up your in-state provider for online courses; my school accepted a course called “Fitness Lifestyle and Design” for P.E. They use course material from FLVS
Can you join a team at your HS? Typically, you can get credit for playing a varsity sport. And often, there’s a few teams where you can join and practice, but not have to compete, if you’re not skilled or strong enough to play.
If you’re in CA, then the local community college may have an online program to offer. Our local community colleges have one where you can walk, run, jog with your smart phone (Nike app) for 3 hours/week for one (or two) semester(s), take a few easy quizzes and Voila!
I took independent study after my Tennis season so I thought I was done with sports credit but the athletic office didn’t give me credit for it.
Im taking 5 APs and my one elective is ASB. Im not sure if there’s any class that I can drop
At my kid school joining any team is a way to get out of gym to take an academic class. Check that out. My son did shot put and throw. Funny thing is… He actually enjoyed it and became pretty good at it…
All 5 of your AP courses are required for graduation? That sounds odd - what are they?
ASB?
