why is everyone talking about how the deadline was january 2nd??? on the website, it says february 15th. what do i do???? can someone help me??

The above is from the Cornell website.

Who said the deadline was Jan 3? Perhaps they can show where the website says this.

If you are really uncertain…call them tomorrow and verify the date.

Consider the source? I would ALWAYS go with the college’s official, published deadlines. Your FAFSA is due by 2/15…what “everyone” might be talking about is that they filed their estimated FAFSA early! Btw, do not wait until 2/14 to start on yours…Murphy’s Law has been known to sabotage the process at the worst time possible.

thank you so much! i was really confused because my friend was scrambling to file her financial aid application by the 2nd. however, the school’s website says february 15th. i guess she got the wrong deadline.

Maybe internationals have an earlier deadline?

no my friend is in the same boat as me. i looked at the website a million times now. the february deadline stands. i’m not going crazy, right?

I was correct and just checked the Cornell website… that January date was for internationals for Cornell.

Deadlines for finaid for internationals from the Cornell website are as follows:

https://www.finaid.cornell.edu/apply/international.cfm
11-12 Early Decision: Nov 1, 2010
11-12 Regular Decision: Jan 3, 2011
11-12 Fall Transfer: Mar 1, 2011
NOTE: Financial aid is not available for spring 2011 international transfer applicants.

2012 Spring Transfer: Oct 1, 2011

Your friend might have had OTHER schools besides Cornell that had that earlier deadline.
