Cornell's website says the deadline is 1/2

CollegeBoard says the deadline is 1/5

Which do I go by? I have some questions regarding the entire aid application and I obviously will not be able to call the office due to the holiday. This is very frustrating, and potentially dangerous. I read somewhere that the deadline is more of a priority date in that applications submitted after the 1st will be considered. I do not know what to believe.

Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.

Submit everything by the 2nd, just to be safe.

From what I’ve heard the profile is due by the 5th but everything else is due by the 2nd, and they’re pretty lenient about all deadlines.

I would take no chances and get everything in by the 2nd.

Don’t fret. The “deadline” is more of a guideline than anything. Last year, I didn’t submit my application until January 22nd. I called the office to see if I had any chance of still receiving any aid and they told me just that. They just don’t want to receive a bunch of apps in late March and not be able to process them in time for students to choose their schools. They told me that, assuming I was accepted, I’d probably receive my aid package in mid-late April, but I still received my fin aid package the day after my “large packet” of acceptance info came in the mail (I believe I got it on the fourth of April).

Thanks for the input, guys. Especially you, Blastoise. I had figured that such an early “deadline” could not possibly as binding as it appears. You have brought me great comfort.

Really, Blastoise? I didn’t even know about the financial aid deadline until now and January 2nd is tomorrow for the materials!!
Do you think I can still apply for financial aid if I send in the CSS profile and the Cornell financial aid form by the middle of January?
I mean, even the 2009 tax forms/income returns haven’t come out yet.
