I misspelled a word on CORNELL supplement essay!!! help.....

my bad. I was just desperately in need of some humor while writing these last minute essays

Look where it got you. You went and peed yourself. Don't be ashamed, it's happened to the best of us. Too many good people are lost during the application process.

Funniest thread on cc so far. LMAO

Who said this thread is supposed to be funny? I'm certainly not laughing suatkilic.

Indeed, this is not supposed to be a funny thread. I am mourning.

Indeed, this is not supposed to be a funny thread. I am still mourning.

We get it stanford09, you're not getting in, but you didn't have to post twice.

this thread is gerat!

What does "gerat" mean? This isn't urbandictionary! Take your slang somewhere else KDMAN!

Get out of my thread and dont post irrelevant comments. Either answer the question (without being uncivilized) or just get out. The way you trashed this thread almost constitutes trolling.

Drink your hatorade stanford09. I AM a troll so the "almost" before constitutes is unnecessary. Oh, and what was the original question again, I forgot it?

hahaa..yeah i m using this as a way of getting out of writing last minute essays :|

well mispelling at an ivy does show a lack of carelessness, but their reading the essays so quickly maybe admissions officers wont catch it? if it is just one word i am sure they wont penalize you ..more than one is a problem though. good luck

^he may be lying though. My friend with a 2370 SAT, rank 5/1200 and 3.98 gpa with some decent ECs got rejected from Stanford, MIT, and Dmouth, probably because of some spelling errors (3+ errors on his supp essays). He wasnt asian either if that makes a difference.

^I dont think Ivys worry about your lack of carelessness, but rather an abundance of carelessness.

ONCE AGAIN, OP, for a serious answer, do a ****ING forum search.

well, I found some threads but nothing practical. even if I made an error once or twice they know English is my second language. They should ignore it.

If you are not enough of a student, and enough of a person, for them to overlook a single misspelling, then your chances were not great even from the beginning I guess.

Whatever gets you to sleep at night.

stanford09 -- You seem to be convinced that it's not going to matter. What was the point of the thread?

^ I agree, just remember as your head hits the pillow tonight, that there are at least 4 rejects for every admit. Do you really think that enough people made spelling errors on their app (IE 80%) for them to begin admitting people with spelling errors on their apps. At least in my thought process, the math just doesnt work out.

stanford09, I'm really sorry, but this thread is pointless. If you had a modicum of common sense, you would've realized before you posted this that one spelling error isn't going to get your application trashed. Just relax.

^ Oh yes it will! It will be ripped to shreds.

The joke's getting kind of old, don'tcha think?
