As a transfer applicant I need a report from a Dean that will preferably include "written comments" which the admissions committee finds "particularly helpful." Honestly, how many people know the Dean so personally that he be able to write a nice letter. This especially applies to large Universities.

What should I do? Should I just go to the dean's office and ask him to fill out the form? I can give him the resume and that is as much as I can do to inform him about me. I find this whole thing very awkward.

I can’t tell you what the procedure is, but I can say that, if it’s a requirement, you can bet they’re used to doing it. In high school, you needed a Guidance Counselor’s report and they don’t know their kids in big schools. My D needed a principal’s report, and he didn’t know her at ALL. So you might end up with a generic recommendations, but they’ll be able to handle it. It’s possible it goes to YOUR advisor and he/she does the actual work and the Dean signs it. ?? Just check with the Dean’s office, I’m sure they’ll be able to tell you THEIR process for this. Luck.

well, if my advisory will fill out the form it will be much easier - at least he has taught me in the class and knows who I am.
