Hey I was hoping that someone would give me advice on a certain problem that I am having. The first time I took the ACT I only got a 27. Than I took it again two days ago but failed miserably on the science section(not kidding I gave up and guessed on the last 24 problems). Should I sign up for the December 11th test and take it a final time? I never studied for it the first two times and so maybe if I cracked down and did a practice test every night I might go up a couple of points. Right now most of the colleges I am looking at have a middle 50% range between 29 and 32. Everything else on my application is really strong so I was wondering if scoring three points higher would even make that much of a difference? My parents think that I am crazy to even think of registering for the next test before I even find out what I made on the October 22nd one. The deadline for the December 11th is on November 4th just four days before early scores are even put on the web. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The deadlines mean that you often have to register before you know your scores. I don't think you're crazy. Raising your score 3 points can make a difference, but it also won't come easy (you probably realize that after yesterday). Dec 11 is far enough away that you can do some serious studying.

Well I am fairly confident that with a little studying I can increase my english score to a 32 and my math score to a 27. It is just the stupid science section which you can not study for that is killing me....... I also find out if I made it into Rice on December 15th just five days after I took the ACT for the third time. None of these deadlines are working for me at all.
