I need Financial Aid, but is it worth applying?

I am an international student, who would die with happiness if I can get in Rice! I need Financial Aid (probably 35k+ a year), yet I have found out that there is nearly no chance to get accepted if I apply financial aid. Shall I simply apply and hope I can get one of the international scholarships? Will that increase my chance by getting myself out of the international financial aid applicants' pool?

Any comments are welcome! Thanks in advance!

If you need Financial Aid, then you apply for Financial Aid. It is no use to get accepted into a school that you cannot afford. Apply and see and best wishes to you.

It works slightly differently with international students.

You can apply and try for the international scholarships. Definitely worth a shot. If the application fee is not going to be too much, I would recommend it.

I’m in the same Situation as you are. I would need as much fincancial aid as you do and the 70 $ application fee is quite a lot too.

Acoording to college board they give out an average award of 20K to roughly 15 students a year.

I interviewed last week and it was pretty great, which really encouraged me to apply. I don’t expect to get in however

Also, if you don’t apply for aid your gonna need to proof that you have enough money to pay for it, so you can’t apply and not apply for aid.
You’ll be considered for all merit sholarships automaticly
