Im gonna try to make it short and concise I am currently a senior about to graduate)
I messed up hard in high school (my current GPA is 3.3 or 3.4)
Around junior year I decided to take college classes in a CC (LACC). I feel proud to say I have worked to retain straight A’s in the few classes I take after school and in summer/winter break.
I am currently on 18 credits with straight A’s in LACC and something about the environment really drives me to go really hard this time.
But as I am about to graduate I learned about SMC and the TAG system.
I am confused as to whether I should continue with my CC years at LACC or drive 45 mins to SMC to take advantage of the higher transfer rates, TAG/TAP programs and ectr
I just feel unsafe with the statistics and stereotypes of my current school (LACC)
I dunno what to do Q_Q
If I end up with a high GPA
But someone got to a UC that i failed to get to because of the TAG system and he has a significantly less GPA then me
I will be in a state of intense distraught…
Any help on this topic would be highly appreciative!!
Also any word on LACC alumni with success stories would be great, like ur gpa and the 4 year you are currently at or you had transferred to
3.4 HS GPA is not at all bad for a HS GPA. You should be proud rather than ashamed of that accomplishment.
The transfer rates speak more the the student body than the institution. If you are comfortable at LACC, and are performing well, I’d suggest you stay there until you’ve got your 60 units and can transfer to the CSU or UC of your choice. LACC participates in TAG.
Keep up the great work and I’m sure you’ll do fine.
Good luck.
