I need opinions and options. (Average student for comp sci)

Bump

I recommend Rochester Institute of Technology

@Ctesiphon‌
I appreciate the input but I could use a multitude of options if possible

Then I also recommend Drexel Univeristy

Count me in for suggesting the Rochester Institute of Technology.

The Golisano school is a highly respected school that is often willing to take students like you. The fact that there are 3,000 CS students is a strength. You’ll have a lot of different people to collaborate with and to draw on for support. Those kids will all be unique and have their own interests so it isn’t as if you’ll lack diversity.

Of the schools you listed. I would recommend RIT be number one on your list. But it is your list. I would also suggest NJIT but I don’t know if you would be accepted and you said you don’t like urban campuses.

My dd is a senior at Slippery Rock and has done exceptionally well there. There are parties as in any school but it does not seem to be the overwhelming theme. If you need professors who take and interest in you and want you to succeed then SRU really is ideal. Your grades and SAT scores would be a good match. Even though it is a small town there are so many activities and events to participate in if you choose. The LLC dorms are also really nice - microwave, refrigerator already built in - shower in the room too. Dayton while being a really good school would be a huge challenge academically and would be a reach for you with your scores.

Have you considered some of the small state schools in Pennsylvania? Bloomsburg offers computer science as well as a major in digital forensics. West Chester University is also one of the top ranked schools for computer security, if you have any interest in focusing on that.

@bluehen89 I didn’t care for some of the schools in PA and j don’t have a particular focus in mind yet.

Hello, @SStephen2015‌

You posted a dash yesterday. I was wondering what that post meant, if you meant to put something there or if it was an accident or something. Just a little curious, no big deal!

Nonetheless,

I also recommend University of Pittsburgh

@ctesiphon it means I was bumping my thread in hope to gain more knowledge about my chance of acception at some of my colleges

Alright

What are your thoughts on Rochester Institute of Technology ?

@ctesiphon I feel confident it’s a match for me and a good choice but I need to have more options than that

Well, good thing you do in fact have more options as seen in the previous 4 posts of the thread. What else can I do you for?
