i need safety liberal arts colleges

my reach LACs are wesleyan and vassar
but i need some safety LACs
my safety university is Boston University and my reach university is cornell
my parents really prefer LACs though and want me to have a safety LAC

im only interested in the northeast though, especially MA, NY and CT

What are your stats (GPA, test scores, ec’s, etc.) and budget? It is impossible to offer any advice without them. Also, I assume you are applying as an International student?

Hobart & William Smith would probably be safety.

There are many good LACs in Pennsylvania, just in case you decide to expand your geography.

Just curious, what are your matches for LACs?

what about trinity college? it’s not really “safe” but a likely almost match if you are looking at wesleyan

gpa is 3.73 sat superscored is 2050 taking it again in nov and taking the subject tests october
my ECs are mostly varsity sports but i do a handful of service as well. the only non service and non sports thing i do though is art club. my ECs arent very strong… i know :frowning:

i know this sounds bad but i dont have a budget

thanks dougbetsy ill check that out
yeah penn would be fine for me
what do you mean by my matches?

I know students who attend Juniata (in PA, near Penn State) and Drew (in NJ, close to New York City). I think that these two are very nice schools and I think theses would likely be safety schools for you. There are a lot of great small liberal arts colleges that are not too difficult to get into. Check the “Colleges That Change Lives” book or web site for examples.

You didn’t ask for match LACs, but look at Colby and Bates in Maine and Hampshire in NY. Consider Bard and Sarah Lawrence as possible safeties.

Guilford might work.

Does your location “Jakarta, Indonesia” mean that you are an international applicant? If so, that changes everything. What would be a safety for a US applicant is (at best) a match for an international.

Are you a US citizen abroad? That would make things a lot better. You could take a look at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/848226-important-links-automatic-guaranteed-merit-scholarships.html</a> and see if anything looks good to you.

But please, please, please, before you take this whole business one step further, sit your parents down and find out just exactly how they expect you to pay for your education. You need to know what your budget is. Without that information, you could end up with a list of wonderful but un-affordable colleges and universities.

Yeah im applying as international

My friend goes to colby but actually hates it there because its not very diverse and good for international kids and she is one as well but i will check those others out thanks

Sorry what i meant by i dont have a budget is i dont need oneand costs arent a problem…

Some safety LACs for vassar and wesleyan types are skidmore, bard, sarah lawrence and conn college

You might check out some of the women’s colleges. Mt. Holyoke in particular is very international friendly
