I-Phones at BU - current students

If anyone has an I-phone, can you tell me how the service is at BU?

Doesn't that question apply to anyone with ATT?

service with ATT is really good in Boston, it is even starting to work underground in the t's also...

Not necessarily...this year my daughter's service has been terrible , both with razor and I phone she has to be outside of her dorm ( on Boylston ) and even then, signal varies quite a bit..very hard to speak to her this year, compared to last.

allright well idk whats going on with her phone, i have a blackberry with at&t and i have service everywhere so...

Hey, yeah I noticed that too. I have ATT and it suddenly started working underground on the T.

weird

don't I wish..it is easier to email that phone her this year. No problems in the dorm she lived in last year though

which dorm was she in last year?

The best local coverage is probably Verizon, followed by Sprint and then ATT. But that changes as the companies invest in their networks. The campus generally, being in the middle of the city, has good coverage. Some of the dorms - like Myles - are such dense structures they may have issues in some parts of the building.

As for an iphone - or an ipod touch - the availability of wifi around campus is getting better but the entire campus is not covered. Nor is that the school's intent. You can get coverage in Brookline, next to BU, with a limited number of free hours on their municipal web, and areas like the libraries, the beach, etc. are all covered by BU's network.

It was a dorm for another college, Emerson

DS graduated from BU...had a Cingular/ATT cell the whole time. Service was never a problem. And he had a pretty junky old phone for three of those four years.

The coverage downtown at Emerson can be spotty with all carriers. I don't know why.

Neither can I Lergnom..last year there were no problems. This year, I get about half of the conversation, unless she is out of the area altogether ( of Boylston that is ) Overall, the service works fine in Boston.

Thanks - my D wants an iphone so I needed to make sure it would work at school!

my daughter has one ...works fine everywhere but where I can reach her:)
