I received an unexpected letter today...

Hello everyone,

Today i received an acceptance letter from the University of New Haven. They've sent me a lot of information and e-mails over the past few weeks leading up to this letter today. The thing is I never sent them an application. All i had done is give them all of my info and my current colleges info so they would send me information on their school. Has this ever happened to anyone? It seems like it has to be a mistake. The first line of the letter reads...

Dear Paul,

Congratulations on your acceptance to the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of New Haven!

I've never seen an acceptance letter because i'm still in community college, but this sure looks like the real deal. Once again I NEVER SENT IN AN APPLICATION. Thoughts anyone?

My D gets one from them every week. They’ve also sent financial aid paperwork. She hasn’t applied.

I got the same letter today. I on the other hand have applied, and sent in my application last week. However, the letter was dated before I actually submitted my application. Are these fake letters?
