I sound corny and arrogant...help

<p>I just finished writing my first draft of my essay. I have read it over a few times and it seems to me that I sound (as the title says) corny and arrogant. Would anyone like to read my essay? I will PM it to anyone who is willing to read it and edit it/make suggestions. Also after you finish, could you tell me this: will my essay make a better Common App essay or a better supplement essay? I have another topic I am going to write about, but I would like to know where this essay will fit better.</p>

2.) I was surprised at how many people the OP sent it to (though the title intrigued me enough to click, too)
