So I tag'd to UCSC as a Molecular Cell and Developmental Bio major, but I really would like to change that to a plain Biology B.S. major. Is it okay if when I apply regularly and put Biology as my major, they would accept that and my TAG would still be approved? Thanks.

I’m not sure if it’s different with different schools, but my TAG said in order for my TAG to be approved, I had to apply to the same major on the TAG and the UC app. I tagged irvine.

Hmm, since they’re both from the same college, should I just wait until I matriculate to change my majors? Any idea how easy that would be?

Since its a contract to that specific major (and some majors have different requirements) no, your TAG will be rescinded.

So is it possible I can petition to have my major changed before the fall semester starts? (before I pick my classes). I’m not sure if the UCSC system works different than other schools, but I’m wondering the likelihood of switching from Molecular Bio to Human Bio or just a Biology B.S. since they’re all in the same College of Science.
