Essay
I will write about a Table. How the table is important to me: In Africa my family and I were in a war and so we hide underneath the table from the bombs. Now, since I am in the USA for many years, don’t know exact number... but anyways, now my parents uses it to talk about bills and how will survive for next day.

So the essay will be a contrast of the use of a table in two different countries and two different situations.

OHH I forgot i am in the mist of making a book about my life "LOST HISTORY"

Is anyone here?

bumpbumpbump

race64, I don't have the background to do chances, but by the SAT and GPA averages posted on the USC profile for admitted students in 2008, your numbers fall rather far short I'm afraid. On the other hand, in addition to adding URM diversity, you have a most unique background with quite a dramatic personal history. If your essay is well-written (and I love your topic), I think you may have a chance. Make sure you have an English teacher or GC help you edit/proofread your essay and best of luck.

Your SAT and GPA are a bit low, but your subjective stuff looks great.

Did you already apply or not yet?

You probably have a shot if you write great essays.

I blew my chances too. :(
Didn't even bother applying 'cause I knew I'd get rejected.

Can you please copy and paste the essays because my internet does not want to open it.

It is unusual to have 4 very different colleges (one in Georgia, one in Connecticut, one in Pennsylvania, USC) for classes unless your parents are moving every summer. Did you attend highly specialized summer programs at these 3 different universities which deal with your interest in International Relations OR are these the names of the universities which you are applying to (which does not go on the USC application)? Any special awards, honors? Honestly, I think your GPA is very low compared to last year's stats.

I'm not quite sure what you mean about essays, but you should not post them online. That makes it possible for others to steal them. If you are looking for the essay topics, then those are in the application.

These are the colleges I am applying to also. The only one I am applying for International Relations is Georgia Tech. I don't have awards except academics (1st honors, 2nd honors, ...). I am hoping that the essay will replace the low GPA. :o

Don't you have the USC application which states the essay topics? It is very clear what the essay topics are in the application. I suggest that you re-consider your choice of universities. I never heard anything about Georgia Tech being renowned for International Relations/Anthropology. It is a fine Engineering school. Since you are from New Jersey, why not apply to your state school, Georgetown (fantastic for International Relations), and some other universities in DC and New York. I suggest you look for universities which have study abroad for anthropology. Good luck!

^It CAN'T OPEN!

Here are the essay topics:

**Preview Fall Essay*
Please write an essay, approximately 500-700 words (typically one page) in length on one of following topics.

The 18th century French philosopher Denis Diderot said, “Only passions, great passions can elevate the soul to great things.” Describe one of your passions and reflect on how it has contributed to your personal growth.

Thomas Edison failed many times before successfully inventing the modern electric light bulb. He said, ’If I find 10,000 ways something won’t work, I haven’t failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward.’ Reflect on an accomplishment you achieved in an unlikely way.

Newton’s First Law of Motion states that an object in motion tends to stay in motion in the same direction unless acted upon by an external force. Tell us about an external influence (a person, an event, etc.) that affected you and how it caused you to change direction.*

Thank You!
Do I need to take SAT II?

Two SAT II's are recommended, but not required.

Without it will it hurt me?

I'm a little unclear. If you are applying as a freshman this year, you only have two more days to finish the application. You need to worry more about writing your essays than taking unneeded tests. Many applicants from include their SAT 2 scores because they already took the test for another school, so they might as well. If you haven't taken the test, it should be fine. Really, however, you need to get the online version of the application to work and start working on it. The deadline is January 10th, in two days!

I am done i have sent it
