the same thing is happening to me. I didn’t send in the official transcript of a class I took at Moorpark College. ONE CLASS. the thing is I am IGETC certified through my primary CC so technically I met my provisional req because that class was required for IGETC certification, I just didn’t send in the transcript on it’s own.

I went to sd yesterday and talked to a admission rep and he told me my chances were slim for getting reinstated but I could still appeal. The ridiculous thing is all of these problems are small clerical errors. I fufilled all my req’s. I didn’t get an email either just a hold, I didn’t even know I was missing the transcript.

Talked to admissions officer today. Although all of my college grades were on one transcript, UCSD wants transcripts from every cc, they canceled my admissions. I am appealing and so should everyone else!

Ha, guess my phone call worked. I hadn’t sent in my appeal yet and the hold on my account disappeared, it no longer says my admission is cancelled. Sweet .

I have the exact same situation as you. After speaking to one of the admissions officer, UCSD is still denying my admissions. Do you remember what admmissions officer you spoke to? This is so unfair, this is an honest mistake, and I being denied admissions without the possibility of fixing this mistake. Any information that you can give me I whole-heartedly appreciate it…

@booomx1
as u mentioned, u did not report a grade or grades from the one of the college u attended. This is consider as academic dishonesty, this is very serious and they will rescind your admission if they found out you trying to hide the bad grade u received in ur other college. This is VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM. Compare to Uceric2010’s problem… you r in a much dangerous place…

If, as Boomx1 said on an earlier post, that the grade he received in the course from the CC he did not get a transcript from was on another CC’s transcript that was sent to UCSD the charge of academic dishonesty is a little harsh. Certainly, if he knew that grade would be reported by another CC that he attended it would not appear that he was trying to hide a bad grade or deceive UCSD. However, it is standard procedure to have each school you have attended submit its own official transcript whether or not the course and grade appear on the transcript submitted from another school that was requested to send in a transcript. I believe most colleges will only accept a course and grade as being properly reported if it is on an official sealed transcript from the institution that the course was actually taken at. While not academic dishonesty, it is more serious than Uceric2010’s problem since he did have an official transcript submitted from each school he attended and only made a minor clerical error on his application.

I just received a hard copy letter and it says these conditions caused my admission to be cancelled:

1) My GPA is below 3.00…which is FALSE…my gpa is 3.55 and im looking at my transcripts right now.

2) It says I don’t have enough transferrable units which again is FALSE…I have 70. Im thinking maybe they didn’t receive my AP scores but I sent them in over a month before the deadline.

3) It says they didn’t receive transcripts from College of the Canyons and LA Valley College. In the case of College of the Canyons, I put on my application I was going to attend but didn’t…I just forgot to tell them after I got accepted that I failed to attend. In the case of LA Valley College…I thought I dropped the class but to my surprise when I checked my transcripts to that school I received a “W” and didn’t send in those transcripts. Although it was my fault…those classes had nothing to do with my overall grades because I was IGETC certified at my primary CC.

I sent in my appeal letter and they said it would take 10 business days to process.

All I would have to do is send them the transcript and it should be okay right? It seems a bit harsh for them to automatically rescind my admission without any notice or forewarning. At least when I was applying to USC they constantly kept reminding me of missing documents.

I got the letter too. I think they list all three of those things and they just mark an X next to the one that you were actually rescinded for. I was also missing a transcript so I sent an appeal letter right after I got the letter.

Does your tritonlink say that you have a hold? Because I had one but after they got my appeal, the hold was removed.

OK sounds good man. I spoke to an admissions rep with my mom and they said to send my missing transcript ASAP to support my appeal. Judging from the way your situation went, im optimistic about this problem being solved. So im assuming everything is all good right? And no, my hold is still on my account.

When did you receive the letter? And how long did it take after you sent your appeal for the hold to be removed?

I’m in the same boat as a lot of you. Just received a letter today saying my admission has been withdrawn because of “We have not received the following official document(s): Blah Blah Community College”

I sent in my transcripts so i dont know what this could mean.

dpen230, i’m under the same predicament as you…damn, i hope they accept the transcript that i’m sending for my second time…they got my other transcript from my primary city college…now i have to wait til freak’n monday to talk to the admissions and records office of my secondary city college since they’re closed of on fridays and weekends…i’m really hoping they grant all of our appeals

ya, send those transcripts and send that appeal letter CERTIFIED asap! ill be going to my secondary CC tomorrow and sending the transcripts in through rushed delivery. It sucks cuz I know all of us worked hard to get into a good school and it would be a travesty to have it all taken away for a technicality. lets all stay positive and spend our energy on something productive as opposed to stressing ( which I have been doing the last 4 days). nonetheless, good luck to everyone on their appeals.

I’m in the same situation! They just withdrew my admission because they didn’t receive the transcript of ONE class I took SIX years ago. This was a college course I just took for fun during high school and does not even affect my major reqs or my credits I kept calling the office of admissions, and was told to appeal, while one person said that my admission was reinstated. However, when I checked my admission status on the UCSD website, it still said my admission is withdrawn. I just went to the college today to resend my transcript, but it will take 3 business days… I’m planning to write an appeal letter tomorrow just in case, but I’m afraid they won’t receive it in time :(

If you were accepted at College of Canyons but never registered for any classes your transcript should not show anything other than you were accepted there but never enrolled and that will probably be no problem for UCSD.

Your situation with LA Valley College is a little more problematic. You actually registered for a class, apparently attended the class beyond the deadline for withdrawal without it appearing on your transcript and received a grade of W for the class. While a “W” is not included in calculation of your GPA it is a grade for the class that was not reported and is one that while it dose not affect GPA is often seen in a negative light. Students rarely withdraw from classes they are getting an A in so the assumption by UCSD could be you withdrew from the class because you were doing poorly in it and by not submitting a transcript you were attempting to conceal the fact you received a W, even if you did not realize that you did at the time.

I think for you to get reinstated the centerpiece of your appeal has to be a credible and convincing explanation of the W you received in the class at LA Valley College and your rationale for not submitting a transcript from a school that you did actually attend. You are going to have to assume that UCSD will be suspicious of your explanation that you thought you withdrew early enough that you would not receive a W for the course and if you had realized there was a grade recorded for you on a course taken at LA Valley College you would have submitted a transcript from there.

I honestly thought that I dropped the class early enough to not receive a withdraw and explained that in my appeal accepting full responsibility for my negligence. I just felt like I couldn’t handle the courseload anymore because I was taking 17 units at the time. Looking back, I did drop the bomb on this one and if they don’t reinstate me then I guess I can accept it was my fault.

With that being said, all I had to do was send the transcript from LAVC and tell them I no longer went to College of the Canyons and im 100% sure my admission still would have went through. I could have gotten into UCSD without taking that class anyways so its not a matter of not fulfilling prerequisites for my major.

You are spot on with how I centerpieced my appeal. I explained that if I had even known there was a “W” on my record I would have sent the transcript. In addition, I explained how my grandfather passed away and how funeral arrangements, work, and school just took its toll on me and I just forgot to report it to them. By no means was I trying to conceal a bad grade or in this case, the “W”.

I had that transcript rush delivered so im guessing it should arrive by next wednesday or thursday. Im just hoping it arrives in time to support my appeal.

Just got a letter in the mail from UCSD saying I’ve been re-instated (literally only a day after the letter saying I’d been rescinded arrived). Glad that’s over with. Best of luck to the people still working on their appeals, I hope you all get re-instated!

Hi all…I submitted my appeal, but was told that it is very unlikely it will be approved. The admissions officer said that the appeals pannel only approves appeals based on extenuating circumstances (death of a family member). I am going to keep a positive attitude just like depen 230 stated earlier! Good luck everyone and don’t give up! I will keep you all posted…Please do the same…
