I will not be receiving my semester 1 report card for this year until early Feburary.

What do I do? In the SAO I cannot submit my application unless I obtain this, so how do I grant access? Also, how do I go about telling/asking the schools regarding this?

We did not use SAO, but in Gateway, you would send the request to your school for your current transcript. Then, it was up to the school to inform the BS that grades were not published yet. They’ll work something out with your current school directly. I’d just go talk to whomever is in charge of sending transcripts and ask them to reply vs waiting until report cards are released, so it doesn’t look like their just not sending anything. Communication is key and it will work out.

My school has the same issue, so I had emailed the schools that I am applying to, which includes two of the schools that you are applying to, Exeter and Peddie, and asked about me not being able to receive my first semester grades before the January 15th deadline. All of the schools said that they wanted the most current grades that I could give them, which in my case were grades for the first grading quarter. Exeter had also said that I could just submit my first quarter grades before the deadline and then afterward directly send them my first semester grades so that they could add them to my file.

Last year, CaliKid did what @keystosuccess describes above. I recall the grades being marked as received in the system upon the schools receiving the first quarter report, even though the first quarter report would be superseded by final semester grades, which are the only grades that appear on the official transcript.

My school does not have quarters, just full semesters. I am not sure how to approach this, because in the SAO I cannot submit my application until everything is on there. I have already gotten my counselor to do my Grade 6 and 7 grades - and my gateway stuff is already done. I will email all the schools as advised, and inform them of this.

What do I do to grant access through the SAO, as I am not sure that the school can directly change that? Thanks for the help.

“First, click on “Sign Release” so that your administrators know that you have authorized them to release your reports and transcripts through the SAO system. Next, request specific year reports from your school administrators. Your school administrator/s will receive a link to upload the reports and transcripts in PDF. The SAO dashboard will reflect year specific completion and overall completion of the requirement.” https://ssat.org/apply-to-schools/the-sao/faq They can send a transcript with your most current grades even if they are not your final semester grades. There is a separate form for the previous report cards, so I have nothing to submit for this year. I cannot submit the same report card from grade 7 that I have already submitted to fill in the grade 8 version, can I?

The SAO faq suggests contacting the admissions offices if you still have questions. That’s what I would suggest.
