IAmA Temple Sophomore AMA

Hey!

I thought since a final decision is due by May 1st, I thought I would do this. Other Temple students on here can feel free to chime in as well :)

As my username would suggest, I am a Temple University sophomore, and since I was recently fired from my job, I have some free time, so I thought I would put myself out there for perspective parents/students, especially with the current safety concerns.

Feel free to ask me about any aspect of Temple, and I will try to answer each question. There is no real time limit as to when I will stop answering, so feel free.

In terms of my knowledge, I would say I am pretty well versed about quite a bit of Temple's campus life, safety, housing, study abroad, etc. I am currently planning on studying abroad over the summer, so I have some experience there, I lived in the dorms for my freshman year, and off campus in a student-oriented apartment building (I do have a lot of friends who live right off campus, as well as in other parts of the city as well, so feel free to ask about that as well).

Anyway, here goes!

Hi. How does study abroad work. My kid has full tuition scholly. I think if he goes to Temple program abroad he does not have to pay tuition. Is that right. What if he goes to a program that is not sponsored by temple

Sorry for the late responce.

Generally for a temple program, scholarships can cross over, though I would have him talk to financial aid when applying to the study abroad program, just to make sure everything is in order.

External programs are less likely to be covered by scholarships, but tbh I don’t know that much as I am going through Temple. All students who apply have to talk to a counselor for their school prior to applying, in order to talk these things out and explain the process.
