I heard you guys have it the worst.

At my school, you need to go down at least 15 places before you get a non-IB student.

I am currently #35/600

Okay, okay. That is going to go up next year, I swear! Especially since everyone is taking the hard IB math class and not in Aca Deca. :P
If I wasn't in IB, I'd probably be #100. IB classes are weighted. There is no way you can be in the top 5% unless you're in IB.

2/~500
(Lengthening for 10 character minimum)

I don't go to an IB school, but at the one in my area, the top students are ALL from the IB program. They're the only ones taking all/almost all weighted classes in all four years of hs, so they have an insurmountable GPA lead over non-IB kids, even if they get all As and take difficult classes. At my own school, a boy transferred in from the IB program this year (our sophomore year) with straight As from his year in the IB program (taking "pre-ib" classes), and he immediately became the #1 ranked person. While he had the opportunity to take ALL weighted classes his freshman year, we all had to take entry level foreign language classes (not weighted in my school district) and unweighted electives. So it just goes to show, if you can take the IB curriculum, it pays big time GPA-wise.

Vegan, that's exactly how it is at my school. Except you can be in all AP and still be the top 10%. Most of the students here aren't competetive, but there are a certain 30-50 who are. My district made it a rule that if you came from an IB school and went to a non-IB school, they'll place you with UW GPA because its supposedly unfair.

IB pays in a lot of other way other than GPA. If you want to do the IB just for the GPA you are out of your freakin' mind!

If you do IB for GPA, you probably won't get the GPA you want... Atleast at my school, you have to have a true passion for learning, or you will suffer in IB.

i'm 18/~500, but it will hopefully go up my senior year.

yeah, you have to be way dedicated to succeed in IB, but if you do, it will help your GPA.

I just got my IB Diploma, but I was 2/536.
