Ideas for ECs outside of school

Long story short, I screwed up my first semester by not doing anything outside of my classes. Literally nothing. I'm trying to find some extracurriculars I could join or start now. I am really eager to get involved in something other than studying, taking naps and surfing the web. It's too late to join clubs at school and the only other option I know of at school are spring sports which I am taking into consideration. I want to enter the medical field and I'm thinking about becomming a pediatrician or dermotologist as a possible career when I grow up. What are some possible extracurriculars in this field other than job shadowing I could do outside of school or maybe start next school year? I'm also interested in language learning but my main obsession is Arabic (I'm already learning the language so please don't advise me to teach myself) . Generally, I like to learn about other cultures and engage with people from different parts of the world. I've also thought about doing a blog about being an online student. It's something I've wanted to do for awhile now so I'm seriously taking that into consideration.

Any tips or ideas?

Hmmm the blog idea seems really neat and unique
And maybe you could try volunteering at a hospital or a cultural centre?
During the summer you could then do something abroad (maybe going to an Arabic country, or volunteering abroad).

I have a blog going with people all over the world each write weekly, giving their different perspectives on certain issues. We’re a few people down at the moment, so you could probably join us if you wanted :)

I don’t know if there are any cultural centers around here but I have already thought of volunteering and will apply for the summer at a hospital near by. I’ll try out the school blog this weekend and I would love to join you UKgirl.

I’ll talk to the others and send the link once I can get on a computer that will let me access it! There are two blogs, one is currently 5 European people and 1 American, the other has people from each continent, but I think they’re full.

Thanks, I really appreciate it.
