I need some advice about where to apply to. I’d like to go to a school that is similar to Wesleyan University, which is one of my top choices. My ideal school is small, liberal arts, located in the northeast, a bit of an alternative vibe. Thanks so much!
Use any of the college search engines like collegeboard.org. I dont know how to search on vibe, but some matches in the NE include Bard, Amherst, Bryn Mawr, Connecticut College and Bates.
How much is “a bit of an alternative” vibe? That description could include Vassar, Bard, Skidmore, and Hampshire. For a woman, it could include Bryn Mawr. If you are willing to venture out of the northeast, it would include Oberlin, Kenyon and Grinnell. For a student who is competitive for admission to Wesleyan, these other schools are still largely match/reach schools, none of them would be safeties or “sure things” for admission.
