<p>Hey, I was curious if anyone cud pm me or post some ideas for an essay that would really stand out for colleges. I am not going to give out deep personal info, but here is some general:
I ask because I have gotten so so remarks on my previous essay</p>

<p>Single parent, low income family</p>

<p>Dad died while I was 9</p>

<p>Started tennis team at my school that went to state its second year</p>

<p>started prefect system at my school and became academic prefect</p>

<p>I realize the last two are not spectacular events, but they are the only thing academic and school related I can think of. So, thank you guys for the help.</p>

<p>How about instead of going at it from a narrative point-of-view, write an argumentative essay? All we want to know is YOU as a person. If none of the events define you, maybe you should just move away from telling stories and write a more academic paper (with passion and emotion of course).</p>
