You think it sucks watching the pep rally…try planning it and performing to people who just sit there and stare at you with a blank or hateful look on their faces. THAT sucks.

^ Finally, a sane person on this thread.

Then they should make them suck less…

We could be freaking cirque du soleil and most people would just sit and grimace. It takes input from the people also. On a side note, there is a lot of cheerleader erm, dislike on CC it appears…

I understand the cheerleader hate but I’m friends with quite a few of them at our school, sure they have their little thing going but they’re pretty nice people and are easy to talk to.
It goes without saying that the hot ones are pretty easy on the eyes in their uni’s. :D

Haha, the fall pep rally in my school is on my birthday. D:

Just because we don’t agree with your POV makes us insane? Wow.

@samiiilee and hiimleila: You know what you should do to punish us all for being so ungrateful for having you force us into an overheated room and watch you pointlessly cheer? Stop having the pep rallies. THAT would show us.

To be honest, rallies aren’t that bad. I mean yea, you’re packed together, but are you really that uncomfortable with others that you can’t stand being next to someone?

The fun of a rally is in the silly little stuff you do like chanting and stuff. You rally together as a class and get a sense of camaraderie. Plus the cheerleaders take a lot of time to put together routines just so we can ignore them or laugh at them? I think that’s a little insensitive.

My school just had a pep rally friday. Usually, my school’s pep rallies are ok: at this one, the band and dance team performed, the homecoming court was presented, and the football players said a few words. The pep rallies usually turns into a shouting match between each of the 4 classes with the seniors (2011 represent!) being the loudest.

Other than getting out of class, I really don’t care for pep rallies. Pretty boring, IMO and it keeps getting worse every year.

Can’t comment on the cheerleadering thing as my school doesn’t have cheerleaders (thankfully). Usually for our pep rally, a bunch of buff guys just put on cheerleading outfits and yeahhh…

It’s kinda creepy if you ask me.

^ Mind you, I play HS sports. We didn’t give a damn about the pep rallies. The work they do is good, but honestly, our football wasn’t anymore motivated than it would be without the pep rally. Our pep rallies weren’t 20 minutes, try 2 hours.

I play sports, I’m not a sheltered nerd. Poor generalization there.

Try… football, wrestling and soccer?

Don’t make a case just because of my username.
I don’t play ping-pong.
Did you think I was asian?
Dumbass. I’m black.

Btw… it’s MITHopeful16

Get it right, or just type MIT.

@thelawn pep rallies are school sanctioned, we don’t say “well we are going to have a pep rally that day!” we TRY to make them suck less. I don’t like spending three hours a week planning something people don’t care about on top of doing well in class but it comes along with being a cheerleader…you dont have to like pep rallies but the blatant disrespect is quite frustrating.

^^ Damn. You’re black?! You must be a football and basketball GOD.

Oh… I just assumed that we were making blanket generalizations based on race.

According to @fistpumping’s chance thread he didn’t play sports until this year… s tfu

I actually like pep rallies at my school. our ASB puts on funny games where its mostly footballs players, cheerleaders, or class council kids who participate and whichever grade wins gets money put towards their class graduation and senior breakfast.

Then again I might be biased as a former cheerleader and current class council member. So I harbor a lot of school spirit.

It’s not fun being outside on the bleachers when it’s really, really hot out, but it is pretty fun. At my school they’re pretty short and not too involved. However last year we got to pick a teacher to get a pie thrown in their face =))))))

Haha this is why I love CC…

We just had a pep rally on Friday. Totallyyy skipped it We’re all dismissed from class to go to the auditorium. The teacher is supposed to walk us down there but they never do for upperclassmen…soooo I U-turned and went down to the Academic Decathlon room (which, bc everyone else was at the pep rally, I had all to myself) and spent an hour and a half studying and doing homework instead of watching people walk across/dance/sing/play instuments in the gym…it was amazingggg

EDIT: Read the argument above…yesss I do play sports but didn’t have to present for the pep rally

^^^^
Lol, while I’m not the best, but I am good.
