<p>I have been asked to provide along with federal tax forms, W-2s, etc., a copy of my parent's and my own 1099 forms. But, we didn't file those. What should we do?

<p>If your parents or you get a 1099 with interest from bank accounts or for any other purpose, you don't generally file those with your taxes, they are just informational so the income information on them can be declared on your tax returns. So if you received any, just make a copy of them and send them along with the other documents the college(s) want. If you didn't receive any then you obviously can't send them.</p>
