If ACT, will submitting SAT2's help?

JHU requires either ACT or SAT1 with 3 SATIIs. I already know I'm submitting my ACT but I don't know about my SAT IIs. I know they aren't required but they could still be added just to give them more scores to look at/help me out in general. The thing my sat2's are 700, 680, 650, in math2c, writing, and bio. ehh...i didn't really study for them and never bothered to retake them since the places I'm applying don't require them with ACT. Also, I want to do something like a bio major probably or at least a science type major, soo I don't think that 650 would help me out much heh, and a 700 on the math2c is just pathetic IMO. heh i messed up, but yea, anyways, should I submit them too or will they be more a detriment to me? thanks

and happy holidays everyone! :)

i submitted only my ACT (32) and was accepted Early Decision. I would say it likely depends on how high your ACT is compared to your SAT IIs...

one of my classmate who has gotten in ED havent even taken her ACTs yet and didnt submit an SATII, her SAT I was about...13something

yea, so, uhh, submit my 29 ACT with the 700, 680, 650 (in bio and i want to major in bio, so it will prolly hurt me) or only submit my 29 ACT?

hehe, i dunno what to do but i gotta decide soooon b/c I hope to send out my app tomorrow - i just gotta finish the 1st essay

i only submitted my act, 28, and my sat I and got in ED, and like i said one of my classmates, accepted ED also havent even taken her acts yet and didnt submit her sat IIs

hmm, hey nguyen, what was your SAT that you submitted?

my ACT 29 converts to about my SAT score, so I'm just submitting my ACT. soooo, leave out the SAT IIs? grrr, i dunno what to submit! only my 29 or my 29 with 700 math2c, 680 writing, and 650 bio? (the only reason i'm even hesitant to send my SATIIs b/c a 700 is pretty pathetic on the math2c and a 650 looks real bad since I'm wanting to major in bio)

and also, an ACT 29 is still competitive for JHU? I thought that'd get me pretty much rejected, hehe. the rest of my stuff is all good, jus yea, ACT sucks. I saw one of my friends who's a freshman at JHU right now and she got in last year RD (after being waitlisted till July, eek scary) with a 30. I dunnnno, what's your major going to be nguyen?

java, ur 29 isnt going to get you reject. lol if it will, than i should of been rejected with a 28. truthfully, i have one of the lowest test scores on this forum, so all that says to me is that test scores play a partial factor, not all of it, in admissions. my sat was 1270, basically a 28. dont worry too much, a 29 is good (i think) as long as other parts of your application is good. my major is going to be either bio/premed or bme, but im probably going with bio (i HATE engineering). also, dont be freaked out just cuse ur friend got a higher act (by 1 point) and she was on the waiting list, you may be stronger in other fields than her. oh yea, according to collegeboard, jhu's 50%tile act scores are 28-35...or something, but i know it starts with 28, so dont be too stressed out. i think its a good idea to leave out the satIIs, i mean if they said EITHER SAT I+II OR ACT means...just that either or, not BOTH. so i think its better for them to see teh 29 which is within their range, rather than the 650. again, i emphasize the story bout my friends (lol im sure ur tired of that), the fact taht she was admitted ED without even seeing her ACT score just tells me that acts (or test scores in general) isnt THAT big of a deal. oh btw, her sat was 13ish, probably 4.0 student, okay ECs, and the other major thing is research, so in case ur thinking shes some kind of genius who got into Hopkins regardless of her ACT, she's basically where i am, so dont worry!!!
