If denied from early decision 1 school, can I apply ED2 elsewhere?

<p>If I'm denied/deferred from my early decision 1 school, would I be allowed to apply to another institution that offers early decision 2?</p>

<p>You can apply ED2 if ED1 does not result in an acceptance (you are deferred to regular decision or rejected). But you cannot apply both ED1 and ED2 at the same time to different schools.</p>

<p>The college to which I have applied to for ED1, will send its notification by Jan 1 and the other college I wish to apply for ED2 has its app deadline Jan1. How will this work out? :P</p>
