If every job paid equally well, what would you be?

^pimp makes a lot, but it's illegal

a student and an artist(in every way, like poetry, books, paintings, music, even needlework). i like learning(as long as the teacher isnt bad). and i've always admired those that can express themselves. its something that i've never been able to fully do but i think i could

Be a philosopher and wandering around the world.
Let the heaven be my blanket, and earth my bed.

wait, i've heard this idea somewhere before..what was it..o yeah, that's it; communism. ;)

^^ that's where I got my idea from. but at least in my scenario, effort is rewarded :) I just wish that jobs weren't measured in terms of monetary value - we shouldn't be penalized for pursuing passions that just happen to be less lucrative. I think most of us just can't overcome lure of financial security and end up miserable.

a ji ggalo.

@screwitlah

If effort is rewarded, then you really haven't changed anything now, have you? Just as how currently a booger taco salesman would go out of business, he would go out of business too if effort was all that mattered.

And what would you do if your system did not pay based on effort? Who would become a janitor?

let's just imagine that we live in a magical world where people like booger tacos, and where even a booger taco salesman gets paid at the same hourly rate as an investment banker if both work just as hard. :)

regarding the janitor thing, perhaps nobody. that's why I started this thread - to see where our passions secretly lie. Who knows, maybe someday someone will confess his or her secret desire to push around a mop or a broom. And let's not spoil the fun!

The point is that value is not some objective thing. You can never say that 2 people worked just as hard. Value and "working hard" are subjective qualities.

we don't need to be so exact about everything - let's just assume that we can say that two people work just as hard, and that, in fact, everyone does. anyway, that's not the main point of this thread. chill and have some fun.

Any job that allows me to walk around with a rifle. I like guns, I like shooting, and I would put it to good use if I got paid a lot for it.

I'd work at a sleep clinic.

I want to stay in school forever.

Professional student.

ummm lets see

..food taster. =D
what a sickely awesome job.

and if i followed my dream...air force pilot.
which i might still become.

Professional basket weaver.

Funny how money ruins so many future professions.

Firearm tester

Probably either a bartender or a professional student =P

a socialite is someone like Paris Hilton
