If I applied regular decision...

would my first semester Senior year grades be calculated into the gpa NYU evaulates me with? Or will they just look at it seperately from my cumulative 9+10+11 gpa?

They don't look at first semester grades.

Are you sure?

You mean to say they don't ask for mid-year reports? What do i do then if I want to show them a continued upward grade trend?

I'm sure. Trust me, I wish I was wrong. I don't know how you would show an upward trend for your senior year. I mean, if you're taking a challenging courseload, that'll (kind of) account for it.

When an NYU rep visited my school back in October, he said that they would look at our first semester grades. HE also said that the first thing they do when they get our transcripts is look at any trends that might be there in our grades..

Sorry, I was wrong. I'm really glad that I was wrong...

so we need to send a mid year report? what are we suppose to use? the common app? cuz when i applied online there was no sheet to print off for a mid year report

They look at whatever grades you send in on your transcript. They DO NOT want a midyear report. They pretty much have this plastered all over their message board:

http://nyu.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/9834033161/m/9361007482

if you send your mid-year report, it goes into recycle bin.

So...does that mean that they only look at your quarter grades from senior year? that doesn't seem fair b/c my quarter grades weren't great but my semester ones are much better.

and whys that not fair? just because it doesnt help ur situation doesnt mean its not fair

wait, so we are supposed to send first quater grades?? i don tthink so...

i was actually thinking about sending my quarterly grades though because they are straight A's.... would that be potentially detrimental?

Why is it so difficult for people to follow the directions on the application?

Their website says they do NOT want a midyear report, so don't send one. Simple.

Okay I get it.

But what I want to know now is if there is any way I can show NYU that I am continuing an upward grade trend even through my senior year. Or is my 9+10+11 gpa the only thing they'll evaluate me with?

bump10char

You could mention it in additional info i guess...
