If I could change one thing....

Content with my 2200 and I know that it is competetive but I would have certainly liked a higher score so going with SAT scores.

I’m pretty new at this and even though I’m a junior, I want to know what I need to improve in order so I won’t be completely screwed over.

I’m pretty sure I’m on the right track but I just wanted to make sure.

If you could just chance me, I’ll be eternally grateful :D

So I was looking at a couple of 6 year PharmD programs and I was wondering if my stats were looking good to get into any of the schools.

I am currently a Junior in HS living in Ohio right now.

Ethnicity: Asian
Gender:Male

GPA:3.59UW/4.00 (This will go up, I’m pretty determined to get this up to a 3.75UW…if that’s possible)
SAT: 1970 (Planning on retaking)
MATH:700 (Will be 800. Made some stupid mistakes before)
CR:660 (Will go up slightly)
W:610 (Will go up significantly)

SAT IIs: I heard that they don’t really help at all, any advice on that?

Three APs this year, HS doesn’t let sophomores or freshmen take APs.

8th grade
Honors Algebra I (HS credit)

Summer
Gym (Don’t even know why I’m including this)

Freshman Year
Band
Jazz Band
World Studies
Honors Geometry
Honors English
Biology
Spanish I

Sophomore Year
Jazz Band
US History
Honors Algebra II
Spanish II
Chemistry I
Personal Finance
Honors English

Junior Year
Honors Anatomy and Physiology
Honors Pre-Calc
AP Chemistry
Spanish III
AP Government
AP Psychology
Honors English

Senior Year (School is switching to 6 period days, this is a tentative schedule.)
AP Biology
Honors Physics
AP Spanish IV or Spanish IV or AP Statistics
Advanced Composition or maybe Brit Lit
AP Calculus BC
Maybe AP Micro and Macro Economics (Heard the teacher sucked but I need an econ credit and I’m not going to waste a semester taking regular econ)

There is somewhat of an upward trend. Freshman year was fine but sophomore year was kinda rough for me. I suffered in Alg II but I currently have an A in Pre Calc. Chem I to AP Chem is just…ridiculous, my grades in there are not looking so hot. Does that really affect me in any way (considering it’s the toughest AP class)?

Awards:

Might get a job at KI (Kings Island) in the summer, not sure how that looks on a college resume.

Recommendations:
I’ve been told by fellow students that my Honors Anatomy and my AP Chem teacher’s recommendations are outstanding and that the Advanced Comp teacher’s recommendation is going to be amazing.
But I haven’t had much contact (actually, none at all) with my counselor :stuck_out_tongue: so that’s going to be sub-par at best.

Essay:
It’s really not going to be anything phenomenal or noteworthy considering that writing really isn’t one of my strong points (as evidenced in my low writing SAT score).

So, what do you think? I’m looking at Northeastern, John Hopkins, ONU, OSU, Rutgers, UOP (5&6 year), Duquesne, Hampton, St. Johns at Queens, UCSF, and just for fun, if I have any chance for the Ivy’s. haha

Thanks, appreciate it!

Has to be my SAT score as I only got a 1410/1600.

More AP courses

My SAT 1 score :(

I chose GPA, but I meant that I’d remove a bunch of W’s from my trans. I might have been able to avoid them if I’d worked something out with UMASS when I needed to take time off instead of just withdrawing from all my classes.

SATs :(

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1078209-chance-me.html

I would definitely do more extra-curriculars if I could go back in time. I graduated from high school with a 3.66 uw gpa, a 1920 on my SAT, 780 on the Japanese subject test, 720 on the chemistry subject test, and 640 on the math II subject test. My only extracurricular (seriously) was that I spent 1 year in Japan as an exchange student. Other than that, my college application was lacking. I only got into UC Riverside and UC Santa Cruz. I was rejected from UCLA, UC Berkeley, UCSD, UCD, UCI, and UCSB.

I have a learning disability, well that is what my family tells me. I test low but do pretty good with accommondations in my classes. The problem is i applied to a few school that have learning centers, i revealed all my testing (WIAT -II and Woodcock Johnson psycho educational battery III) testing that I scored low. I am now being rejected from all colleges. But the testing really does not show the real me, I just test low. Do you think I was wrong to reveal this testing did it hurt me??? help

I used to think that just throwing myself into school would be enough.

ECs all the way.

My ECs. I wish I could add basketball and guitar to them. (though I can still do that)

I should’ve switched out from the private school I’m in now (300 students, 10k yearly) to a much larger school, regardless of whether pricing was higher or lower, where more broad classes are offered.

Being in Canada one of the most crucial differences that you need to account for is your course load and coming from a smaller school some of the higher level classes I should’ve taken weren’t offered (because they focus more on McGill, York, etc. entries not HPY entries).

I’d change my ECs. I think I’ve done great things, but I got started later getting involved and never really knew who to ask to do more. I wish I’d known.

Definitely would have applied to more schools. I only applied to Penn State UPark, and now that I look back, I could have gone somewhere a LOT better. But my first year of college really ruined my chances at transfer because I switched medications that caused depression, which affected my school work.

Oh well.

im a junior and i regret not working… i have like a 3.5 but i literaly probably haven’t done my homework at home this entire high school career… i have a 34 act so colelges know im not dumb and i have like 5 honors and 4 aps for all of high school (which at my school is a toonnn) but i just want to cry thinking about wasting my potential… like i dont wnat to sound braggy but if i had applied myself i could easily have had a+'s in all of my classes. i need work ethic :(

Current Junior:
I’d change by 3rd quarter of Freshmen year when I received NO credit for either of my four classes because I was tardy a lot and got credits taken away. Too late now… Shoulda would coulda…

GPA is 3.2… Breakdown:
Freshman - no honors classes 2.4
Sophomore- 4.0(weighted)
Junior- 4.2 so far (weighted)

I hope colleges will see my work ethic and improvement and will not judge me on the bad quarter freshman year.

My GPA- I cant tell you how many times I ended up with a borderline B+ at the end of a marking period.
I also had incredibly bad luck with teachers. I often knew as much as, if not more than my friends who enrolled in the same class but had a different teacher. They would get As, and I would get Bs, because the teacher themselves had different expectations

freshman grade…i got c- in thai language(im currently living in thailand and attending a school) and that is the only c i got. rest of them are a and b…but still it hurts…especially if you are aimming for top colleges…i regret it sooooo much…the teacher hated me for being lazy and complaing

A b is like an STD on your transcript. Once it is there it is forever 3.99999
