If I apply to an ED program and an EA program (both Ivies), can I break my ED to go to the EA? Say the EA school is Yale and the ED school is Columbia or Penn. Since they are both Ivies is there any type of compact that allows me to break the agreement?
If you had taken time to read any school’s ED agreement, you’ll discover that the entire crux of an ED agreement is that it’s binding. Also, no Ivies offer EA that isn’t restrictive. Yale, Harvard and Princeton offer single choice early action, barring you from applying to any ED programs.
If you’re not prepared to be fully committed to an ED school, you have a great option: apply RD.
You cannot apply to any two Ivies early (regardless of that Ivy having ED or EA).
Last march the OP said “I have been accepted to all these schools”… and they were not Ivys. So this must be bogus.

I wrote this thread as a point of information.
This. If you apply ED, you sign an ED Agreement, pledging to attend if accepted, @RODAWG
Ivies are SCEA, The operative word is “single”
