If I got an 800 in math on the SAT I, should I be alright for math II?

I got an 800 on the math portion of the SAT. Should I be able to get an 800 for the subject test without preparing? I hear you can get a few wrong and still get a perfect score.

Also, I am taking the physics and chemistry subject tests. I am going to buy the new edition of the Princeton Review prep books, are they enough?

Thanks.

math level 2 covers more advanced math than the SAT I, so you should prep at least a little bit, depending on how strong of a math student you are. while the SAT I tests basic math concepts, the subject test covers actual material like advanced algebra and trig, so at least look through a prep book to see what the test covers.

I went in cold turkey and got an 800 on the IIC. You should be fine.

For Chemistry:

Princeton Review (this will ensure a 750)

For Physics:

Princeton Review/Sparknotes (you should get 750 or higher)

My son’s experience was a bit different than Greedisgood’s. My son had taken Calc I online through the community college in 8th grade and then did no math the second semester but took the Math II exam that spring without studying. We both expected him to get an 800 (he’d already gotten an 800 on the SAT I math that year) but he got a 760. He was tripped up by trig which he’d not had within the year of taking the test so I would encourage you to brush up on trig before taking the Math II.
