I would never have created a new club and written my essay around it.

I would never have been accepted to Y, S, Duke, Rice, Pomona, Haverford, etcccc.

I would still be at my old school.

I would have had graduated a year early. With crappy EC’s and 2 AP classes.

I wish I had found this place before junior year, though. To be honest, I actually am doing EC’s this year for my own enjoyment, I just worry about it appearing as a last-minute effort Living in a town of 30,000 people with a mother with medical issues and a dad who works all the time makes volunteering and jobs difficult until you get a license… bleh.

I would think I could get into Harvard

^Lol
Well, at least it builds us up for it:) We have a more realistic idea of where we can go.

I would have saved a LOT of time instead of obsessively reading each post I’ve come across and slobbering over chance threads. But I’m much more informed now, so it was worth it. This is a great place to get your hysterical ya-yas out so no one else can see them.

I would be a happier misinformed person.

Much happier.

complete ditto, lol. CC is a huge waste of time, & yet, i’ve gotten SO much useful information out of it. i would know NOTHING about the application process if it weren’t for this siteee.

so cheers, CC! may u live on & make good students feel inferior foreverereerrr.

Thirded. I love this site… gotten way too stressed out because of it, but even in sophomore year right now I would not have known about many great opportunities.

I would not have known

what a LAC is
what USAMO/ACME/IMO means
the names of all Ivies
people actually self-study APs
taking one AP isn’t challenging at all
there are people in Kansas
NHS means nothing
what the ACT is
<2250 is fail
A- means is grounds for suicide
Taking AP Calc BC your senior year isn’t all that impressive
what magnet schools are
what Exeter and stuff are
community service actually means something
ECs can sometimes make or break you
its harder for internationals to get into college (i’m not one)
there are “top lacs”
what EA/ED/SCEA means
not all vals/sals can get into HYP
SAT prep classes are considered jokes
PSAT actually matters (too bad i’m a senior)
… so much more it’s freakin ridiculous.

Sometimes I wish I knew of CC earlier to get a head start on college: ECs, self-studing, ACTUALLY TRYING to get good grades, doing well on PSATs (scholarship), etc. Other times I wish I never found CC, naivete FTW!

I’d be clueless in this application process. Out of my group, I’m the only one that knew how to apply and what the process was. So far, I’ve helped 10 people with their Cal State apps. Thankfully, I was ahead of the game. Thanks CC!

I definitely wish I had found this site a couple of years ago. O well, it’s been helpful regardless:)

I just thought of an epic one:UNDERWATER BASKET WEAVING

Ohh yea it’s legit, I swear. Wiki it.

I want to major in that =)

I’d think that my high school path was pretty rigorous. Now, I know it’s a complete walk in the park compared to you guys’ resumes.

I disagree.

^
I agree with your disagreement. I don’t understand why kids waste money on the PSAT when they can just take the official SAT. It’s like, why waste money taking a practice test when you can use it and take the real thing, to really get a taste of what it’s like.

If not for aiming to be national merit scholars and whatnot, I don’t see the PSAT being useful/helpful in prepping for the SAT at all. Rather than wasting like 13 bucks for the test, go out and buy a prep book… which would be a lot more beneficial.

You probably don’t want/need scholarship money?

edit, test was administered free to my Catholic school.

They are trying to get NMSF/NMF. If it weren’t for that, I would agree with you guys. However, there are a lot of people on here that have a chance and will get one of those awards so it makes sense. (I will not be one of them though)
