If I have a midterm tommorow is 2 hours of sleep worth it?

I'll get two hours max. I basically have to learn 2 months worth of multivariable calculus in 3 hours. Should I sleep after that or just study for the extra 2 hours?
Yes Im aware that Im stupid and really procrastinated.

It’s calculus- I don’t think you can do it ( not to be a downer) but I would just study instead of sleep. Good luck. And get off CC if you need to study!

Having done many all-nighters in college, I can tell you I figured out by trial-and-error that if I couldn’t get three hours of sleep, it was better for me not to go to sleep at all. (As an adult I’ve learned about the whole 90-minute sleep cycle thing, so this kind of makes sense. Three hours would be two cycles. If you wake up in the middle of a sleep cycle, you’re more tired than if you wake up at the end of one, so two hours is not good.)

Looks like ill be studying for the next 4 hours. Awesome.

Let us know how you do. Good luck.

my vote would be for sleep. if you don’t know it you certainly won’t be able to figure it out on no sleep during the test.

I have to leave in an hour and I only know 1/3 of the material omg im so dumb
Im 99% sure im going to get an F ugh

So glad you took the time to post that rather than continuing to study.

Thanks I know.

So how was it?

Not as bad as I thought. I mean Im sure I only knew like 30% of what we learned but I could do most of what was on the test. So im just hoping for a C. Im a senior so its second semester and im pretty sure a c in a college course wont affect my acceptances

^^ Maybe, maybe not. But please don’t get yourself in this situation again, and be careful with thinking “It’s senior year, so I can slide.” Colleges have been known to revoke admission for students who really screw up their second semester of senior year.

In your situation it probably wouldn’t have been worth it, it wouldn’t be restful sleep because you were so tired.

But usually, if you can get a nap, particularly a few hours worth of sleep, it is worth it. I’m in a job where we work a lot of all nighters, and it is highly recommended for safety and alertness, that we catch a nap if we can. It might save our lives.

Of course, I could have just taken an hour nap, and instead of following my own advice, I’m drinking coffee.
