If i took the October 2016 ACT, would that be too late for EA deadline?

UMich is my dream school. In the class of 2016, 18 out of 400+ kids in my school got accepted. (im instate) i dont know how many applied, and i dont know anyones scores, but i go to a competitive school so id be suprised if anyone got accepted under a 30.

Ive taken the ACT twice already and plan on taking it 2 (maybe 3) more times.

1st test composite (no studying): 25
2nd test composite (minimal studying):25

I just took a practice ACT (the 2008-2009 released test) and scored a 28 (E:30 R:31 M:24 S:25)

My goal for this june test is to get a 28 or 29, and my ultimate goal is to get a 31 or 32.

Im going to take the september test as well, but could i also take the october 22nd test if im applying EA? I know thats only a week before the EA deadline, but my previous score reports have only taken 2-3 weeks to become available, so would it possible to send UMich my september scores with the rest of my application and send them the October results when the become available, or is that impossible once my application has been sent in? Also, do more kids take the ACT in the fall? Does this result in waiting longer to get your results?

I talked with an admissions counselor at a college fair and she said the majority of EA kids get deferred (im pretty sure im gonna in that group), so would it benefit me to take the october test and then send in my (hopefully) improved scores for the RD pool of applications?

It would probably be too late, but it might be helpful if you sent them in if you are differed. Also, I strongly suggest that you try taking the SAT as well. My ACT scores were average at best, but my SAT scores were super high on the first try. It’s different for everyone and you may be surprised with a higher score, comparatively, if you take the SAT.

This is from Michigan’s webiste:

“Also note that if you plan to take the ACT or SAT in October, those scores will not arrive in time to complete your application for Early Action.”

http://admissions.umich.edu/apply/freshmen-applicants/requirements-deadlines

You will be able to send them your scores for early action if you send your other scores before the deadline. They require you to have submitted at least one SAT or ACT score on or before the deadline for early action for them to review your application. However you can send them the October ACT and they will add to your file and review your application. I applied EA and did the same thing with my SAT score and was admitted in December.
