If I want to go to Goziueta Business School for UG at Emory what do I list as my major on the freshman application?

since you do not start the b school until your junior year, you don't really have to put anything definite on your application. however, something like economics might put you on the right track for the b school. i'm not positive about this but you could ask the admissions department of the business school to see what they say.

Very Good question. Why does Emory not accept admissions into the Business school as freshmen? This is very unusual on Emory's part.

It's a complicated issue, but the b school wants to open that option to a limited number of students (and still accept most of the class for the Junior year); however, Emory is and was a liberal arts school from its founding. Many people think it won't be good for the b school if the students don't have to take GERs like the students in the college, etc. Look out for direct admission in a few years though. You never know.

does somebody have a definitive answer?

From the Emory Wheel..

"Facing opposition from Emory college, the Goziueta Business School dropped a plan to directly enroll freshmen into the BBA program. Instead teh B School will pursue joint iniatives to attract the best business minded prospective students"

Dean Wagner wrote..
"I felt, as did many in the college faculty and admiinistration, that this idea was not consistent with Emory's committment to the principles of a liberal arts education"

However, Emory may introduce a new program called Goziueta scholars:

"Incoming freshmen admitted to the program would have scholarships, special extracurricular programs, but would not be required to attend the b school upon reaching junior standing."

"..should see its inaugraul class of reshman in fall 2007"

There you go! This article indicates there will be no direct admission anytime soon, rather special business scholars, similiar to emory scholars.
