I AM SCARED FOR THE AP BIO EXAM.

Anyone else scared? =(

Not scared but nervous. It sucks when your score hinges upon FRQs that could come from anything, anywhere and you’re expected to answer them thoroughly.

I wasn’t scared/nervous for the APUSH exam.

It sucked.

I wasn’t scared/nervous for the Bio exam.

Now I’m kind of freaking out because of what happened with US.

Have you both covered pretty much all of the required material? My teacher last year covered through plants and left us to study animals and ecology (pretty major portions of the course). I was able to use PR and get a decent hold of the material.

The FRQs actually aren’t THAT bad. Last year kinda took me by surprise but AP really gives you credit for pretty much ANYTHING you write down. DNA question? Talk about structure and you get a point or two. There are more points available than necessary to get a solid 4 or 5 overall.

@Sciencefrenchie

lol, exactly opposite situation.

eh… not really… I haven’t studied yet, but I have a basic knowledge of both molecular/ecology biology because I read through the SAT II PR Biology book… not sure if that’ll help, but at least I have some sort of idea of what I’m doing haha =P

I’m planning on cramming CliffNotes this weekend, right after I recuperate from APUSH…

you guys have a misconception about the FRQs. they are the easiest part of the exam. you can easily get 90% of the points just by knowing some basic concepts.

@redfirex67

We had to do independent work over the summer (before this year) on the ecology unit, but other than that, we’ve covered everything in class. I DEFINITELY need to go back and review plants and ecology, other than that, I’m not TOO worried (but again, I kind of am because of how badly the US exam went…)

@Ilikeyou

Really? What do you define as “basic” concepts?..

I have to cram animals, plants, heredity, and evolution.

My teacher couldnt cover most of them, except heredity. But I dont really get heredity, lol

go look at last year’s FRQ.

basic as hell.

Hm, those really don’t look that bad.

Especially the one where you have to draw a graph–I learned that in what, 2nd grade? Maybe I won’t do so badly on this…

@Ilikeyou: Last year’s FRQ wasn’t quite as straightforward as previous years. But it was definitely doable.

@All: Take a look at scoring guidelines for 2008/2009 and see all of the points they give out for stating the basics of the concept. Not saying it’s easy but that you’ll be able to do well without knowing the all of the details.

dont make the mistake of drawing the wrong graph. many people drew line graphs last year. which is wrong.

I had a very good teacher and did extremely well on the 2002 MC (72 raw score), but I suspect that the 2002 test was just really easy.

Okay now you guys are freaking me out again…

dude its no problem. a 5 on ap bio is practically guaranteed if you read cliffs once or twice.

I have it, just haven’t read it yet… I’m like 1/3 through. I was thinking about not reading it; it seems to go into a lot of detail (especially with the animal kingdoms—that’s where I stopped…)

Really?
In our class, the top got a 94 on her multiple choice. She got a B- as her exam grade.

I got about 74 too, on the essays average of 4-6.

Needless to say, I got a D+.

skip all of the taxonomy chapters. they’re not necessary.

Btw, I read over Cliffsnotes 7 times… but i still cant define TATA box and spit out what a bottleneck is.

Anyone wanna talk about Lamarck?
Any history on the AP?
