I was surprised I got in because my stats aren’t incredible and I live out of state which only guarantees about 4% admission. Once I got rejected from UCI i thought I wouldn’t get into UCD.

Remember that people lie on stats threads sometimes. Check their previous posts and you’ll see.
wrestler1234 for ex. is a liar since he, in his chance thread, listed his SAT as 1900 and going from 1900 to 2300 would be pretty ridiculous. He also says his total W gpa is 3.3, not 4.5. Epic fail. Check people’s past posts and you can see their real stats. I have no idea why people lie about them =/.

I got into UC davis:
~2150 SAT 1500/1600 M+CR
4.0 10+11 GPA, 4.1 depending on how calculated.
4.17-4.3 senior year gpa included, 4.75 GPA so far (3 AP classes last semester, two now)
I go by 4x4 so my GPA is deflated a bit by normal classes. If you remove my normal classes down to 6 say, my GPA is like 4.15-4.2 10+11 and 4.3-4.4 senior year included…it’s hard to explain.
My EC were pretty weak:
2 clubs, founder of one.
NHS I think
Computer repair/built a lot of computers and made a good chunk of change.
I think I did a good job of expressing myself in my application. Then again it’s all score based and it really is a shame they do such a poor job of evaluating applicants. Community service should not be a .3 GPA boost, neither should having parents that didn’t go to college etc. In the end I think ~2k points can be easily racked up if you go to a bad school/did avid/have parents that didn’t go to college/had a traumatic experience (which can be a lot of different things) etc.

EC should be max 1k points, 300 for volunteer, 300 for being in a family making less than 30k or w/e, and 200/400 for state and national level awards respectively imo. It’s so screwed that people that are far above the average for a UC campus GPA/SAT wise get barred because their parents went to college.

ilyforever023 is your GPA 3.35 weighted? I don’t know how that’s possible with that many AP classes O_o. Course rigor definitely should be emphasized though. I know people that just took easy as **** classes and pulled off a 4.3 and got into berkeley (2 AP classes, 4 easy as crap classes).
