Here are my favorites
-You are spinning so fast you think Fox News is standing still
-You named your kids "Deduction 1" and "Deduction 2"
-You fax the FBI a list of "commies in my neighborhood"
-You have ever told someone to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, even though they don't even have shoes
-You've ever said "Clean air? Looks clean to me."

How about you copy and paste this list and keep adding onto it.

-You don't support the Fairness Doctrine because you've read the First Amendment to the Constitution
-You disagreed with Bush's bailout and disagree with Obama's bailout
-You see that there's a difference between Republicans and Neo-Cons
-You know that there's a limit to what the government can do.
-You realize that the Presidents that sent soldiers to die during the most recent wars were all Democrats with few exceptions.
-You respect the idea of personal responsibility.

"-You realize that the Presidents that sent soldiers to die during the most recent wars were all Democrats with few exceptions."

Wait, what?

Bush and Bush were the only presidents to send soldiers to "war" since Vietnam. If your definition of "recent" means post 1900, then you need to realize that America's historical time line is not that long, and anything over 30-40 years is a long time, relatively speaking.

By the way, if you're referring to Wilson/FDR sending troops to the WW's, then I cannot believe that you'd somehow fault them for their inevitable decisions.

I'm a conservative by the way, so I don't feel as if I'm needlessly attacking you, rather I may just have misread your post.

What I always wonder is why Democrats and/or liberals feel the need to endlessly criticize and harp on Republicans directly, with accusations and generalizations. Can't you just be satisfied with President Obama and a majority in Congress?

-You can't stand your gay uncle, but you invite him to your son's wedding because he's rich.
-You think Colin Powell might make a good President, if he weren't black.
-Think every Democrat is a closet Commy.

Yeah, I was just trying to point to the misnomer that Republicans are the war-mongers, and that historically, the Democrats have brought the US into wars too. It's just hard to encapsulate that into their format :)

It goes both ways. That being said, liberals are inherently discontent people, hence their desire for expansive government so as to try to control as much as possible.

raphifix - I'll agree with you that it is a major misconception, but just to play devil's advocate, Wilson/FDR were forced into wars whereas Lincoln, a Republican, could not prevent the Union from spiraling into the bloodiest war in American history. If you really want to get technical, though, Lincoln was probably a liberal.

I don't go out of my way to generalize republicans, as I am more moderate, leaning democratic. I don't think Republicans are evil or misguided, I just think that some aren't as willing to work with the other side (which I understand can be said for the democrats right now, which I also don't agree with; both sides should work with one another, regardless of who is in power)

^ Being a Republican or a Democrat is a matter of party affiliation, not ideology. As evident by the presidential debates, there's little ideological difference between the two nowadays.
